Been pretty busy this quarter, but our normal week end boat patrol activities have been put on hold during the second quarter, except for the Memorial Day weekend and we provided a few boats for the Desert Storm Races, big off shore boats, on the lake. This is really a safety issue but the city just loves it as it brings $$$ to town. Funny when we were growing up it was said that $$$ isn’t everything, well don’t think you could say that today

This is what the check point at Clearwater Bay looked like
Then we got to support two Multi-Agency OUI Check Points in June. One up river close to Topock, just before the Interstate 40 Bridge. An another in a cove just north of the Windsor Bay Sand Bar, Clearwater Bay. The Mohave County Sheriff normally provides a few deputies and BSO to support these events. The Boating Saferty Officers do the prisoner transport, boat safety inspection and river traffic control, while the deputies do the OUI Checking.

All in all it was a good test for the Club, as we haven’t done anything like this for a long time. we had our County Supervisor, Buster Johnson come down to check out the site and and we got a 5-1/2' rattle snake visit us for dinner, so it was an interesting event.
