This was the first time the Club had a Mardi Gras Party, and what a way to celebrate it. It was like taking a trip to Eunice Louisiana via way of the Lake Havasu Yacht Club. Some of our newer members belonged to the Channel Islands Yacht Club in California before moving here to Lake Havasu and did the Mardi Gras Party there, they also made many trips to the Cajun Country, so they new what they were doing. They had a Louisiana Cook that put together, some Cajun Food - Chicken Sausage Gumble & Jambalya and the music was outstanding as well. The Musician was a pro-guitar and fiddle player and also played the keyboard. He kept your foot tapping and almost never stopped playing. As a result, he burned a few of us right to the ground, cause you just wanted to dance to everything he played. The group was all dressed up in their really trick Mardi Gras Costumes and danced with everyone, they even got a few members up that haven’t danced for quite a while. They said they will to do this again.
