Christmas Boat Parade Of Lights
Return to First Page
This event was started in Lake Havasu City in 1982 and was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and other various groups. In 1997 the Lake Havasu Convention and Visitiors Bureau requested that the Lake Havasu Yacht Club "Host the Event". So for the next 9 years 1997 thru 2005, the Lake Havasu Yacht Club has had the privilege of "Hosting" this event. During this time frame the parade became the "Largest Light Spectacular" on the West Coast Of Arizona. Also during this time frame the parade was enhanced by the Lighting of the Famous London Bridge and English Village (Million Plus Lights) that took place each year, the day after Thanksgiving.

Our Parade was blessed with media coverage:
  1. For several years Phoenix Channel 3 "did a pre-parade "Live" TV telecast, during it's Good Morning Arizona, program.
  2. Home & Gardens and A & E Networks filmed our parade and continue to telecast it on National TV during the Christmas season. (We were rated 18th in the Nation)
  3. We earned the Arizona Governors Award for the Best Event in Arizona for 2005.
  4. Our local TV Channel 45 did a live broadast when they obtained their mobile capability. This was a treat for those in Nursing Homes or otherwise could not be at the parade.
  5. We had several local Radio Stations cover the event every year.
  6. We built and maintained a "Annual Lake Havasu Christmas Boat Parade of Lights" web site, producing more than 127, 000 hits annually.
  7. "Custom Business Video Inc. " Produced the Parade on tape and made it available to the public. They also produced a "Get involved tape" to help get entries for the parade - We provided it to Local and National TV stations and it it worked as we had as high as 70 floats in the parade the next year.
As a result we are "PROUD" to have had the opportunity to "Host" this parade for those 9 years and bringing it to State & National Recognition.
